Pickup Game History

How our great game began…people from a company were hard up to play football. So, they got together and played some football. That’s how they began playing football together. Football.

First games…

The very first games were played with a human head because nobody could find a pig’s head to play with. Jim, thanks for making the sacrifice, buddy!

Lessons from the Arsenal Barcelona game

cropped-Emirates-Stadium-Arsenal-2.jpgOverall, I’d say that even though Arsenal lost the game, the manner in which we lost was something to be proud of…almost.

The game came down to two mistakes. First, the goal that came from Neymar and Messi on the fast break: This mistake is Nacho Monreal’s and Giroud’s.  Bellerin and Cech had Neymar in the top corner of the box. There’s no need for Monreal to run to the goal. He needed to eliminate Messi as a recipient for the pass which was Neymar’s only possible option, short of passing backwards or taking a shot. The day of destiny is here

  • Arsenal vs Barcelona!!!

  4. Undying optimism…check!

We are missing the great Santi Cazorla and the dogged Jack Wilshere, but we are Mesut Ozil positive and we have Electric Sanchez, Danny Welbeck, Hector Bellerin, Petr Cech, Aaron Ramsey, Olivier Giroud, Nacho Monreal, Mathieu Flamini, Francis Coquelin, Laurent Koscielny, Per Mertesacker, Gabriel Paulista, Joe Campbell, Theo Walcott, Alex Iwobi and Mikel Arteta.

With a relaxed and focused effort and the belief that we can do the deed, we will fight and we will not give up. We’re at the Emirates, so we’ve got the crowd and despite the outcome, this will be an epic match. I have no idea what the odds are on the game, but I’m sure it’s all on Barca to win.

Here’s to betting against that! COYG!!!!!!!!

The future looks a bit grim in UCL

Of course, I’ll be cheering for my beloved Arsenal, but I’m not an idiot – despite what Jackie may blather on about. The reality is, without Santi Cazorla, Jack Wilshire, and having the entire rest of the squad at full strength, I don’t give us much of a chance.

This image captures the upcoming match perfectly. We’ll get a few licks in, but Barca will not be daunted and ultimately, MSN are gonna bite us right on the hand. The crying will be done by me.
